The answer my friend...
Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who has been affected by Katrina. It does hit a little close to home as my brother-in-law and his wife moved out of Biloxi a couple of months ago and we have some good friends in that area.
On a happier note Ukeland is now hosting Dominator's Ukulele Tabs! Check them out they are the best!

Shot to the heart...
I've added screenshots to all of my DVD reviews and updated them a bit (all except Joy of Uke 1 which is loaned out at the moment).

It's not the heat...
Whew it's been a cooker here in north Alabama the last week or so - hopefully everyone out there is staying cool wherever you are.
I've just posted a review of Dan "Soybean" Sawyer's CD Uke of Ages.

Two weeks left...
There is two weeks left to submit a review - or just about anything - for a chance at a copy of Jim Beloffs "60's Uke In" (or if you already have it/aren't interested in it maybe I can hook you up with a set of Aguilas or something).
So write a paragraph on why you like a uke/book/cd, record a mp3, just about anything - give back to the uke community :)
I've been doing a lot of reading about strumming across the boards and I feel like that is really the holy grail that isn't covered at any depth by 90% of the beginner materials. Ralph Shaws new DVD is a good start but much more is needed. That is the kind of thing that you really learn best from time spent with other other players, but unfortunately some of us don't have that luxury.
One thing that I would love to add to the site here is just simple films of strums - run through them slowly at first then at speed a few times. Most digital cameras these days take small videos that would be perfect. So film away and send them over! If you are shy just zoom in on your hands and say you want to remain anonymous.

Out, out spotted uke!
I just wrote up an article on how you can make your own Uke-b-gon!
I've been going through and editing a number of the reviews (haven't added screenshots yet - they are coming eventually) to clean them up a bit and make them flow better with the new format (they were divided into sections under the old site).

One more time!
I've added some new gadgets to the recording setup and to test them out we went back to the tried and true "Dream a Little Dream". I think it's out best recording yet (which isn't saying much :) ) Please check it out and let us know what you think!

You're never just a Fluke you know
I've gotten a lot of good feedback from people about the video file of Peter Delapinia - I'm glad you enjoy it and if this is your first visit to the site - Welcome!
I put a new mp3 up here.

Well we gave up on the Sunshine Medly and just focused on one of the songs - Open Up your Heart and Let the Sunshine In. I am very pleased with how the first version has turned out.
Check it out on over here and let me know what you think in the comments!

Ok I just redid the main page to be blog based to automatically archive the entries and to make life a little easier. I am going to play around with it a bit to see if it might be a good choice for the Player Pages to see if it might be a better choice (and allow for users to update their own pages whenever they feel like it).
Please let me know if you encounter any problems with the new front page layout.

USB meet UKE
I built a little USB controller to quickly access a few commands in Audacity and put together a quick How To page in the Articles/Other section. Or you can get there directly by clicking here.
If you want something quick and easy you can simply use the software linked with any off the shelf joystick and use it to access keyboard commands.

Well we have been busy working on recording things and playing around with our newly discovered hobby - thanks to a suggestion from "Dr. Cookie" our second song is up here.
The list of things to review is growing also - Rigk Sauer's The Ukulele Solo Recipie came yesterday. It looks good but will require a bit of reading/ practice before I want to review it, but from a quick once over it looks to be a safe buy.
